My first book from this author was a wild experience that I didn’t want to finish. This thought provoking and has a layer of innocence that may deter people away but trust the process. Ann has written something beautiful and  this is only half of the story. This first book holds a lot of power and pain.

 Reese has been  sheltered  from her mother because of her past transgressions that her mother committed. The girl her mother knew has become transformed into an adult shaped by others.  At the centre  of her life  is God, influenced by her grandparents cramming everything they could the last five years in the hopes she will be prepared for life centred around Christianity.  Nothing wrong there but Reese should be allowed to find her own spiritual and thoughts about life. And she does and it is the start of something that words can’t describe

Reese is unprepared for the re-emergence of her mother into her world after five years. Her mother invites her  to spend the summer  in Colorado and in the hopes of mending their relationship.  Reese goes without thinking about the various possibilities and finds herself in a pickle.

Her mother chasing the dream has made plans to leave Reese  for LA and whilst it goes with the plans Reese has for herself to become more independent and braver. She isn’t prepared for the hit of hormones that makes her worked up and speechless for words and thorn at her side to everything she has learnt.

Fisher is a young guy in his prime and everything that her grandparents want her to stay away from.

Fisher knows what she needs and he is quiet charming about it. He recognise Reese is lost and challenges those perspectives one day at a time.

Depending on how you look at it. It could be dangerous for Reese if she made those decisions  of her own will to be anchored to God. But she was influenced by others and this book is her awaking, her chance to discover herself and realise that she needs to be herself free from influence and learn to live for herself.

It’s going to be a mess ride and Reese is young. You got to trust the process as Ann will deliver a second book that will deliver us from this suffering and challenges we had in this first book.
