As an English Professor at a private university, my life was near perfect. Yes, the female student body could be aggressive in their advances at times, but there was never any temptation. Not when I had the high school sweetheart and love of my life by my side.
One Monday in May three little words changed everything. “We are over.” Janet cast me aside with no explanation or chance of closure. I was left broken, my confidence shattered.
When my best friend, Eddie, dragged me to Florida for a summer away, I didn’t put up a fight. It was a chance to lick my wounds and recover without running into the one who broke my heart. I had no way of knowing the trip would end with me on my knees in a bathroom worshiping a beautiful Goddess. Nor could I guess that indiscretion would have lasting consequences that would forever change my world. Cassie was an unyielding force who accepted nothing less than my full submission.

Obedience is an age gap romance between a college professor and his student that was originally published on Kindle Vella. This volume is a collection of the first twenty-four episodes of the ongoing series. For a complete list of content warnings, please visit lizziebbrown.com.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

It’s been a long time since I have been compelled to write a review. I have read many books that have engaged my interest but this book has piqued my interest. It’s still living rent free in my head and reminds me what I love about this genre.

This book is well written and tells the story from dual POV of both main characters. There is tension oozing through the pages and as the reader you are taken to the highs and the lows of Joshua’s and Cassie’s relationship. There is no hiding behind the covers, Brown tests her main characters and the spicy is high as a result as they explore this relationship and work out what they wanted. This is my first Brown book and won’t be my last from them give how this book is living rent free in my head for so long.
